Buying a Home in Pennsylvania? Hire a Lawyer!

If you are buying a home in Delaware County or Chester County, PA, it is not a bad idea to hire an experienced real estate lawyer to see to your interests throughout the process. In Delaware and several other states, home buyers are required by law to be represented by a lawyer when buying a home.

It makes sense. Generally speaking, when we buy a home, it will likely be the single most expensive purchase of our lives. Most of us get irked when we buy a toaster oven that fails to perform up to expectations. Imagine how you would feel if your new home were a lemon? This is why it is best that when you find yourself in a situation where you are handing over hundreds of thousands of dollars and agreeing to 20 or 30 year agreements, it may be prudent to consult a legal professional.

Some folks think the title company will assist in this. Yes and no. Ultimately, the representative from the title company is not there to specifically look out for the best interests of the buyer.
