Dade D. Werb – Attorney/Partner

A founding partner in the law firm, Dade Werb was born in Hillside, New Jersey. He graduated magna cum laude from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida in 1988, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in business. In 1991, he received his law degree from the Delaware Law School in Wilmington, Delaware. He is a member of both the Delaware and Pennsylvania Bars.

Dade began his legal career with the Public Defender’s Office for the State of Delaware. He has represented thousands of individuals on a variety of criminal cases, from misdemeanors to serious felonies. As a result, he has extensive litigation experience in all Delaware courts, both civil and criminal, and is highly regarded among his fellow attorneys and the bench for his professionalism, preparedness and legal acumen. He has tried dozens of civil and criminal cases, including as lead counsel on several high profile capital murder cases.

Dade also has over 25 years of experience in real estate law. Throughout the years, he has conducted thousands of real estate closings, both purchases and refinances, and enjoys the one on one interaction with his clients, especially first time home buyers. Thereafter, many of these same clients refer their family, friends and co-workers to Dade’s firm due to his attention to detail and ability to get the deal done. Dade also currently serves as a guest lecturer for several banking institutions and non-profit organizations in Delaware on the attorney’s role in real estate transactions and updates on real estate law.

Further, Dade is also court certified as a mediator and arbitrator for Delaware’s Superior Court, having completed the Court’s multi-day training certification process. Parties to the mediations and arbitrations conducted by Dade have favorably commented on his ability to find common ground with parties in dispute and negotiating a fair resolution that both parties can live with. This often saves the parties thousands of dollars in fees and costs that would have otherwise been expended in protracted litigation.

Dade currently heads the firm’s wills, trusts and estate department. He has helped hundreds of clients navigate the estate planning and probate process. Dade educates his clients that estate planning is an important aspect of managing the future of their assets and advises his clients on the best way to achieve their particular financial goals.

On a personal note, Dade enjoys time with his family, especially summers at the beach on the Jersey shore. He has also participated in the Wilmington Lawyer’s Softball League for over 25 years and continues to enjoy the camaraderie that comes with playing a team sport with friends and colleagues.
